Simple outdoor activities to do with kids on warm summer days + adhd-friendly hack

We like to be outdoors in my family. Mostly in our own backyard, and we visit the forest regularly. We have built a small playground right outside the door. With a little playhouse, big sandbox, trampoline and probably all the toys in the whole world – always a big mess on the lawn!!

And speaking of the lawn, we do have a lovely friend that likes our lawn, whom we truly love. His name is Robie, we call him Robban. He is a hard working, dedicated robot lawnmower who always gets the job done! Love him. People talk about life changing stuff – well – he is a time saving friend! What more can you want honestly…

Anyways, focus! We were talking about fun outdoor activities to do with your kids, and I got you giiiiiirl!!

Yesterday was a very lovely day to be outside, the weather has 10/10 were I live. No clouds just the sun and a blue sky, about 19 degrees celsius and no wind. I didn’t sweat and I didn’t freeze, it was perfect! So we spent all day outside. I got to do some garden work in between playing and playing. But for the most part we just played with all different kind of stuff. And we also took our boardgames with us outside.

We sat on the deck right next to the grass, playing and having fun together! And while we were playing I noticed something I haven’t thought about. I have made a totally adhd-friendly hack without realizing it was actually meant for my ADHD, since I made it before my diagnosis. I have changed the dice to foam ones. Why? The sound ofc!! Regular ones makes my brain want to explode but these ones are magic, soundless magic! Highly recommend changing your dices to soft, soundless, foam dices. It might help you skip a rage seriously.

We have the bigger Foam Dices for games like Ludo+ and other games that requires one dice. It’s fun to play on the floor and throw the dice quite far so that the kids gets up and run to get them. For the Yatzy i bought the smaller ones since I like to use the lid to roll the dice in but I wasn’t able to find the ones I purchased years ago from Amazon, but I found These. But I’m sure you can find them somewhere else as well!

So, go get some nice foam dices and take your boardgames with you outdoors to play! The kids, and you, will love it!

Thank you for reading, se you soon!
